a list of short, significant reminders that are all too easily forgotten. originally I made this collage because I need these words visually written out to myself, then I realized that they are something that everyone could use a friendly reminder of.

Having a companion means someone to discover with & someone to enjoy things with. 

Going through experiences with someone is so bonding - especially experiences that are unpredictable or unplanned or unrehearsed. Allowing yourself to be in those moments and soak them in draws people together.

As a child, you don’t feel the confines of space, time, money, or life as much as you do as you get older. This piece depicts young boys enjoying the space and freedom of play and life.

When you allow yourself to take a step back from the day to day hustle and re-evaluate life, it can allow you to connect and explore the simple & more joyful aspects of our world.

Distance doesn't determine closeness. Knowing that someone is there for you as your companion can bring comfort. 

This piece is inspired by lyrics from Ray Lamontagne's song "Like Rock and Roll & Radio". It brings to life the idea of being in a separate physical place than someone you love, but still being able to feel their hand in yours in the truest sense.

We are not meant to go through this life alone. We need others and others need us.

As tragic events happen all over the world, it is easy to feel helpless and hopeless that one could ever make a difference. However that is exactly how differences are made - like Margarate Mead said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

More money often leads to being able to afford more space, going to see more spaces and traveling.

A life focused on worldly factors can potentially create emotional distance & space among people

The world is large, intimidating & mesmerizing. When we pause, step back, and really look at the world, it makes us feel small, often in a good way.

With ups there are also downs, & someones these different places give you new and different perspectives. Sometimes in order to reach something you must go down, and sometimes in order to reach something you must go up.

When you find yourself in a valley, some days the path out of the valley seems like a promising paradise, somedays it feels like you will drown as you reach for it, and other days it feels like it is too far out of reach, and only getting further & further away.

In our big world, there are stories, news & things to keep up with from every angle. At times it can feel like a lot of white noise and it can be hard to focus in on things. 

As we go through the day-to-day rhythm, we are choosing (sometimes subconsciously) who & what to listen to. At times we can feel lost amongst the static of the day-to-day jumble. This piece reflects that idea of our relation to the world, our interpretation of stories, and how we make sense of it all.
